Everything in London is expensive. For accomodation, the cheaper choice is B&B (Bed and Breakfast). You can go to the UK yahoo site to get more infomation. I suggest you check the comment first because some of the B&B is horrible.

 There are a lot of hotels in Holborn and Russell Square, look on yell.com and type in 'hotels' in 'holborn' and it should come up with a list of hotels with links to their websites.

 For the accommodation, the B&B is a good choice, is around 20-25GBP per night per person.
 I suggest that the hotels locate in Zone 3 in London, it may more cheaper...

 But I stayed in a hostel which costs 10 pound per night only when I visited there last month!!
