愛因斯坦的父親和傑克大叔去清掃一個大煙囪。那煙囪只有踩著裡邊的鋼筋踏梯才能上去，於是傑克大叔在前，愛因斯坦的父親在後，一級一級地爬上去；下來時，傑克大叔依舊在前，愛因斯坦的父親跟在後面。

<br>於是當他們走出煙囪的時候，傑克大叔的後背，臉上全都被煙囪裡的煙灰蹭黑了，而愛因斯坦的父親身上連一點煙灰也沒有。

<br>愛因斯坦的父親看見傑克大叔的模樣，心想自己的臉肯定和他一樣髒，於是就到附近的小河裡洗了又洗；而傑克大叔看見了愛因斯坦父親乾乾淨淨的樣子，就只草草洗了洗手，然後大模大樣地上街了。街上的人笑痛可肚子，還以為傑克大叔是個瘋子哩。
