Can anyone teach me the english term for the cheering sticks we use in concert?

do you mean "pom pom"? does it look like a mop? with strings?

Pom Pom is used for cheering teams on Sports Day. On TV, you can see many people holiding plastic cheering sticks in Times Square to cheer up the signers on the stage.

i want to know the proper english name for those sticks too.....
