Hello, I have a question to ask you guys because I am planning to apply for an internship in one of the Big 4.
Can someone explain Assurance, Advisory Services, Tax and Transaction Advisory Services?
-
I know the literal meaning, but what exactly do you guys do in these different department? Thanks!
-
啲倒唔會有人咁o力
-
Angel A,
Transaction Advisory Svs : Offering advise clients on the comm.aspects of their business deals. They work closely w/their clients of their
financial & tax transaction advisory and provide a coordinated approach wich centres on the issues that influence the investment decision. They also help client to understand the comm.context in their target on investment operattes, enabling to properly access the risks and oppounities involved in their porposed transactions.
-
btw, what is BIG 4? sth likes G 4 ?
-
actually, diff services represent diff products/services catered for clients. assurance means an opinion is formed to clients like audit accordingly to accounting standards and company ordinance. advisory services can be much broader...
-
Big four in Audit field are so famous in worldwide.
-
Angel_A, u can search Big Four's website and understanding what they do.
-
yup yup, i went on the website OL, i'm going to look more indepth. Thanks! but then still, the website isn't too indepth abt the positions. I took the Deloitte quiz and said i was most suitable for financial advisory position...
-
Angel_A then go ahead la...
-
so how about F4 or F16? Are they accounting firms too?
-
more important is the interview skills to equip yrself well rather than surfing the website....
-
i'm going to apply to advisory la, anyone have some insights???
-
just study the materials and prepare the Q&A la..
-
well, I want to know whether it's a good fit & is what I think it is before i just study and prepare
-
well preparation is a respect to the interviewing company. actually, interviewer needs to spend their time on yr CV and prepare questions. if one doesn't prepare well...actually wastage of interviewer and interviewee's time. although it's internship, still have some expectation on the candidates. and the candidate can't say i dunno the answer and think it's reasonable for intern to do so...when i was an interviewer, i do see this part and turn the candidates down if they show their preparation not enough..
-
thanks! I'll prepare for it ga la, after i write the cover letter, it takes time.. as i normally do thorough research on my position.
-
good luck...actually, not as difficult is one thinks jie...if alreaady u student, the only question is one's ready for it or not...very easy to tell during the interview process.
-
thanks for the tip passerby!
-
hi A, are you fresh U grad' student?
-
sorry... as an intern, people will not expect you to know that much...
you may need to know the general idea but there is no need to know how they do it...
you are a student not an employee.....
-
I haven't graduated yet, still in 2nd year university. & thanks.. but do any of you know what advisory stuff interns dO?
-
做audit得唔得= =
-
T_T: Auditing sounds ok, but I'm more interested in advisory after reading their description and hearing wt my audit friends tell me.
-
auditing is tougher, the professiona is statutory protected and so as the pay...less influenced during economic downturns as a whole..of coz, still impacted...advisory role..sounds more creative..less protective...but if really no idea at all about what advisory is...not good for interview...even if no idea how to do, should have idea what it's all about...also, if u r more interested in advisory role...hope u prepare yr ideas...and yr strength matches..if not, usually interviewer may guess one select this instead of auditing..just becoz of less workload...
-
Passerby: you sound really really familiar, did you reply on my last thread too? Why not use your nickname to talk?
-
yup...i know somehow...just casual talk, why nickname??
-
lol, haha wonder who u are.. u sound familiar.
-
i sound familiar? u or the industry?
-

-

-

-

-
