 Maybe I didn't express myself accurately. All I mean is that she and I experience many special things together, and she will forever be in a significant position of my heart although we can't be together.

 Surely there are many memories in a serioius relationship, even it can be a secret relationship only.
 
 Take your time, who knows, as you said, you two had been together for years (on and off), maybe after a few months, you two will be back together. I know the feeling as this happened to myself as well. But we had been seperated for 2 yrs, i am sure we won't be together anymore.
