What a boring day!!!
-
but it does help you to improve a bit even you are in biology,chemistry, computer studies, electronic engineering
<br>
<br>
-
Not really
-
why?
-
unless they don't read, don't write and just conduct experiments.
-
I donno about Biology, but for all other majors as you mention above, people in those majors they use another language to commute - Math. So when they write report,and find troubles for expressing themself, they will just throw in some equations or graphs, and call it a day.
-
What major you was in?
-
don't they write reports? no presentations? just data and quation?
<br>ng hai ar mah.
<br>
<br>哈哈 我讀果D好核突嫁................個中文name.
-
They do write reports, but the main point for their reports is to explain stuff to people with a shortest and clear way manner (Since audience normally do no't have that kind of patience to listen or read thru the whole report). Beucase of this, fancy english writing skills or styles are not necessary, and basic gramma rule will do the job. An example, You enter an University for a engineering major with F6/F7 level English, in those 3 years of the university life, it will only increase your math or problem solving skill (coz your English skills are "good enough" for the daily use basis. So by the time you gard, you English level will be still around F6/F7 level

<br>
-
i don't have to work... yet
<br>but i need to get up early tmr for sth else
<br>how about you?
-
Daisy,
<br>Here is the story to answer your question.
<br>Oh yea it is also for Orange
<br>
<br>A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
<br>
<br>The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar he shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the gol f balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
<br>
<br>The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more i f the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'
<br>
<br>The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
<br>
<br>'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
<br>
<br>The pebbles are the other things that matter like your career, your house and your car.
<br>
<br>The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
<br>
<br>'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 holes.
<br>
<br>There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'
<br>
<br>The coffee just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend or someone who loves you.'
-
this kind of feeling could become an emotional reflex... and clinical depression in some cases; therefore, one has to learn how to adjust my emotion and think positive more often...
-
a heartfelt thank you for the thoughtful quote
<br>it's nice that you mentioned love
<br>i almost forgot that
-
very impressive and interesting examples!!!!!! where did you find it?
<br>does it also mean even you are very busy, you can still "squeeze" some time to take a rest and "blow water" here?
<br>
<br>
<br>
-
Very smart Daisy
<br>This is the message I want to bring out to you guys maybe all the Hong Kong people
-
Orange,
<br>
<br>Love is very simple, yet it is very easy to be forgotten just like this thread
-
泥真係用心良苦囉!!!! 等我都SEND俾朋友分享下.
-
Plz do so
-
ppl are paying more attention to opposite sex love than family love (i.e. parents, sibling)
-
i think love is not simple
<br>but it would be simpler if you can give out love and cherish the moments that you experience love
-
So Orange how do you define love?
-
So Orange why you can't fall asleep?
<br>
<br>becuase you just don't want to or you have some problem which is bothering you cause you can't slepp?
-
I CAN'T SEE MY POST!
-
god's will hehe
<br>
<br>would you mind posting it once more? =)
-
Orange,
<br>
<br>Well my past was just asking you why you can't fall asleep is because you don't want to or you have some problems are bothering cause your sleepnessless
-
i think i have some psychological problems
<br>but it's getting clear that what i should do in search of happiness
-
I am glad that you find a way out
-
yah thank you
<br>so how about you? work is stressful?
-
Well kinda, everything on my table is first priority, to have this done to have that done, don't do this don't do that, make you forget about life
